FAQs for Laser Cleaning Machine

1. What types of contaminants can ZG’s laser cleaning machine remove?

Our laser cleaning machine can effectively remove rust, paint, oil, grease, oxidation layers, and other surface contaminants from a variety of materials. It can also clean residues left by previous manufacturing processes, preparing surfaces for subsequent treatments such as welding, coating, or bonding.

When used with the appropriate settings, the laser cleaning process is designed to be non-damaging to the base material. The laser energy is precisely controlled to target and vaporize or detach the contaminants without overheating or altering the properties of the underlying material. However, for some sensitive materials, initial testing with adjusted parameters is recommended.

The cleaning time depends on several factors, including the size of the surface area, the type and thickness of the contaminants, and the selected laser cleaning parameters. Generally, it can clean surfaces much faster than traditional methods. For example, cleaning a small, moderately rusted metal part may take only a few minutes, while larger industrial applications may require longer but still significantly less time compared to manual or chemical cleaning.

Our laser cleaning machine is designed with safety features to ensure operator safety. However, as with any equipment involving laser technology, proper training and adherence to safety protocols are necessary. Operators should wear appropriate protective gear, such as laser – safe goggles, and ensure that the working area is properly shielded to prevent accidental exposure to the laser beam.

Regular maintenance mainly involves keeping the optical components clean to ensure optimal laser performance, checking and calibrating the laser parameters periodically, and maintaining the cooling system (if applicable) to prevent overheating. Depending on the usage frequency, a comprehensive maintenance check every 3 – 6 months is advisable to keep the machine in peak operating condition.
